Bamboozling Badminton

Well, in our first season as a team in the badminton competition at Sth Hobart we have exceeded all expectations and made the grand final! This amazing achievment was completed last night when we had an unusual draw (173 - 173), a game that we should relly have won easily, but Hugh & Phil decided to make it interesting. Forunatley that were well aware of the rule that allows the team that finished higher on the ladder to go through... NOT!!!!! Damn we were lucky...

Thanks goes out to all team members for the season, you've done a fantastic job, and all that Sunday training appears to be helping! Thanks Bec for being the unofficial team captain, and lets see if we can finish the season with a grand final victory :)

O------== (this is supposed to look like a raquet) :D

The worlds most awesome game

Yes... if you've been wondering what the worlds finest game was, its been confirmed.
TEXAS HOLD-EM
A game that involves cash, sneakiness, bluff, bravery, and an ability to play it cool (having sunglasses also comes in handy). And with the addition of nicknames the game is complete.
Check out the following link for a brief run down on the rules and some cunning strategies (I have no idea whether this site is any good, so feel free to offer some alternative Texas Hold Em links).

Friday BBQs

The final days of summer actually brought a sunny day, and on a friday too! There's nothing better than starting the weekend by hanging out and relaxing, eating charred food, and kicking / throwing balls at each other. Here are some pics :)

Oooh, more fireworks

The only thing good about the regatta is the fireworks & the day off ya get. As for the sideshows, well... they're crap. And not only that, you don't even win a prize everytime! What happened to the days of rows and rows of stalls / games / rides, and then tripping down to the waterfront to eat fairyfloss and watch the power boats? *sighs* Anyway, at least i saw the fireworks... they were ok.

Oh, and I have included 3 pics of Hugh making himself sick on 5 packets of skittles... quite an effort really, but in the long run foolish - we didn't see hinm for two days!

Stunned peoople *bright light*

Cute...

Elmo looks a bit concerned (don't strangle him!)

Another Birthday...

Another year, another birthday, 1 year older, and am I worried...? Nah.
Life is good, and I'd like to think i'm getting wiser as I progress towards old age ;)

I've put a few pics from my bday dinner together, so check em out!

Now now, whats going on here.

Beccles... up to no good again (and protected by a shield / menu to stop her breaking any more limbs). :P

This guy was all class, right before he sculled this port with a straw ;)

What a nice photo... i'll post all the others later :P

heh... no dude, Phil is not going to suck your finger.

A photo of Hugh (just to annoy him)

AJ & the classic "what are you doing!" look

Eeeek! I'm being attached by a glowing blue pig! Help!

Yummy.... food. Now isn't that a look of complete satisfaction (no its just my silly look).

Falls Mania 1

This was my first experience of the Falls Festival and it went off, mainly thanks to Wolfmother! That’s not to say the other bands weren’t good, and some of my other favourites were Cat Empire, Little Birdy, The Beautiful Girls, 67 Special, Ash Grunwald, and even the Dandy Warhols were ok (tho others thought they sucked).

One slight let down was the new years countdown (which didn't happen), so we just had to improvise and were still doing countdowns at about 12.15am. Never mind, it was still a great night... i have some sweet wolfmother video too.

Special thanks go out to Jimmie.

The Arrival (Me and Jair)

The Beach - 20 minute walk

This was the valley stage - heaps of people, not enough moshing.

67 Special - quite a cool rock band

And they really got into it

Adam Hills - very funny, and hopefully i'll see him again this week!

Tania and Me on new years

Some guy I met in the crowd who wanted his photo taken...

Time for our meeting with Jimmie (only one agenda item to process)

Wolfmother (sorry for the bluriness, but i was in the mosh...)

A tree - and people were abseiling on this! Rainbow girl - some groovey clothes.
